Nuance acquires MacSpeech for undisclosed amount (AP)

BURLINGTON, Mass. – Speech-recognition code concern Nuance Communications Inc. said weekday it has acquired MacSpeech, which makes speech-recognition code for Apple Inc.’s Macintosh computers, for an covert amount.

MacSpeech, supported in San Francisco, makes general-use programs and ones fashioned specifically for the scrutiny and jural fields.

Nuance, which already makes a dictation information for Apple’s iPhone, said the care module support it display its flagship Dragon NaturallySpeaking screen code for Macs.

Shares of Nuance chromatic 18 cents, or 1.3 percent, to near at $14.63.
